I don't know why you would want to set this for anyone, IMO you would miss some portion of a conversation or discussion and then be in the dark and not know why someone responded the way they did to someone and you would not be able to respond intelligently. The only time this would really be usefull is to block PM's from someone you don't want.
Too true .. but I wasn't about to try and explain that to some of these people.
It would be ideal to be able to block pvt messages from users, but typically the greatest conflict doesn't arise from things that are written in pvt messages but in the public discussion.
Though you may miss particular aspects of conversations, there are times when that may not be such a bad thing. The feature does have some merit.
There are certain posters that some would just as soon not read anything from.
Hopefully hostboard can fix the private message part of it, but for example, if someone decides that nothing Counts posts is worth reading, all his posts do is get them mad, cause them to go off on him, than its best they dont read his posts.
We always said, if you dont like what someone posts, dont read it, now its easier to do that. If a particular subject interests you, you can always click see entire thread
I can see where your coming from Rock, but I find it easier to just not read what I don't want to or just skim it to get the gist of what they are saying.

Exactly. It's more about the whole rather than the part.
In an ideal world, there would be no conflict or disagreements. In the real world, people have different morals, values, and perceptions. When there is no common ground for communication, it is sometimes best to avoid conflict by simply avoiding contact.
